It is challenging because you will be riding at altitudes above 13,000 feet, crossing passes like Baralacha La and Tanglang La (over 17,000 ft). You need good riding skills and must be physically fit. Our itinerary is designed to give you proper time to acclimatize to avoid AMS.
What is the best bike for this route?
We provide Royal Enfield Himalayan (411cc or 450cc) bikes. They are highly reliable and perfect for the tough terrains of Ladakh. If you are an experienced rider and want to bring your own bike, you can choose the "Self-Ride" package.
Do we need Inner Line Permits (ILP) for Ladakh?
Yes, Inner Line Permits are required for Indian citizens to visit places like Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, and Tso Moriri. We arrange all the permits for you, so you just need to carry your valid Government ID (Aadhar Card/Passport) and photographs.
What about Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS)?
AMS is a real risk at such high altitudes. Our road captains carry oxygen cylinders and first-aid kits. We advise you to drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol for the first few days, and follow the route that helps you acclimatize gradually.
What kind of weather should I expect?
Even in summer (June to September), the weather can be unpredictable. You can experience bright sunshine, chilling winds, and even sudden rain or light snow at high passes. You must pack layers of warm clothing, including good thermals and waterproof gear.
